KEYNOTE -YOGA, SEX, AND FEMINISM: A Tantra Vinyasa Mission with Vajra Ma | 1:15PM
An event with a title like “Yoga, Sex & Feminism” promises to place these three terms into a relationship and also promises that both Yoga and Sex will be considered from a feminist view point. Feminism refers to the female body as the standard. When the female body is the standard, it does not otherize the male but includes the male in a way the male standard does not include the female. The reality is that the female body is the incomparable map to the cosmos. “All the pilgrimage-centres exist in woman’s body.” concludes the Purascharano-Llasa Tantra.
With the female body as map you have experience, not attainment. Direct knowledge, not imitation. You have integration of pleasure and devotion. You have the spherical sensual intelligence of the body that vibrates with an inseparable continuum of sexuality-spirituality, heart and body. In other words, you have Yoga.
And what’s its purpose? To be whole.
And where did it come from? From the Source.
Go to the womb.
The Womb Changes Everything.
And it is Time for Everything to Change.
Shakti the Power of Woman Movie Trailer Screening and Q & A with Psalm Isadora founder of Courage to Rise and Tantra teacher
"Taboo Busting: Women, Sexuality & Activism"
Harnessing the Sacred Feminine Power for personal and global healing | 7:00 PM
This film is a personal journey of one woman working for the empowerment of many. Psalm Isadora grew up, on a Christian commune in Mendocino California, where she was steeped in the beauty of nature, community and ecstatic spiritual practices. This beauty had a shadow of abuse, which left her with a deeply distorted sense of love and self. At her lowest, Psalm was diagnosed bi-polar and self and professionally medicated, struggling to hold together a life that “just didn’t work.” The film's journey begins in India at an Ashram devoted to honoring the Goddess, the Cosmic Mother, the female embodiment of the mysterious and miraculous powers of Nature. Here, Psalm finds her Guru, under his guidance she sets out on a mission to reach out to women and girls in rural India, to lessen their suffering, using yoga to build self esteem. We follow Psalm as she works to awaken these women to their dreams, hopes and desires. Psalm's Indian friends and non-profit groups advise her to have an armed body guard with her while she is teaching in the slum. She refuses - knowing that walking into the village with a guard would distance her from the students. As Psalm connects to her students she becomes aware of how deep in her own blood her personal suffering runs. She wonders if her desire to heal others is a means of avoiding the parts of herself that she’s deemed too painful to look at. Searching for answers Psalm travels back to the Christian Commune where she was born in Mendocino County, California. There, Psalm confronts the memories of abuse that hold her hostage. The story is a visual journey that parallels Psalm's life and that of the women she teaches. Part introspective travel diary, part social documentary - the film follows Psalm's as she gives the gift of yoga to a world that has little or any access to personal care. The hope is that if more people connect their inner spirit, to the core of their being - they can help create a better future for all.

Beyond Barriers – A panel discussion with Les Leventhal, Jacoby Ballard, Teo Drake & Nikki Meyers | 1:15 – 2:15 PM
Many of us are members of communities bound by stereotypes, cultural expectations, and sometimes even law. The harder we struggle against these barriers, the more we are reminded of our constraints, but if we don't stand against them, they close in and smother us. Similarly, we have physical and psychological limitations, injuries, and edges in our yoga practice. Some of them we long to move past, some of them we are afraid to move past, and some of them we are resigned to. In this panel discussion we will deconstruct our boundaries, on and off the mat. We will cultivate expansiveness and openness, so that rather than confining ourselves to the boundaries we've internalized, we can practice, feel, think, and act in a way that is authentic to our true nature.
